Dismissive client throws apprentices off guard
With tension all up in the air in episode three of The Insurance Apprentice, the tasks seem to be taking an unexpected turn. Before we move onto episode four of The Insurance Apprentice, here is a brief recap of the second task.
A brief recap
In episode three (part 1 and part 2) of The Insurance Apprentice titled ‘Litigation Risk’ we watched the apprentices complete task two in which they had to give a client feedback on risk mitigation and liability. This involved group presentations to a very stern and critical panel of judges.
Team Leading Risk Advisory Services, consisting of Matthew, Azhar and Mopedi, won the second task of the week.

The client is always right
In the fourth episode of The Insurance Apprentice, readers will get a glimpse of the apprentices being ‘masters of their arts’ as they attempted to ‘sell’ insurance to an emotional, yet dismissive client.
As the apprentices headed to the boardroom main Judge Theo and his fellow panel members Riette Fern, Divisional Executive, Marsh Africa and Vuyo Lee, deliberated on the task for the day and their expectations of the assigned teams.
The task for the day, sponsored by Marsh Africa, saw the apprentices use their insurance selling skills to persuade a client to give them a mandate.
As Fern and assistant Adriaan Lemmer, Senior Consultant at Marsh Africa, paced the room and interacted with the apprentices, discussions took place and questions were asked.
Hours later, the apprentices nervously waited to head to the boardroom to begin their meeting with the ‘client’, as Theo, Vuyo Lee, Fern and Lemmer cautiously sat in and listened in their role as the client.
As the apprentices persistently tried to persuade the client they were interrupted, questioned and in some instances caught off guard.
Did the apprentices get flustered, did they feel intimidated or were they taking it in their stride?
Did they win the client over? Which team won? Hear the verdict and what Judge Theo had to say in episode 4:
