Noxolo Dlamini, winner of the 2018 Insurance Apprentice leads XonRisk
XonRisk is an insurance intermediary organisation focused on making insurance accessible for businesses and individuals at all levels of the economy. The company was started by Noxolo Dlamini, a young and experienced underwriting manager, and is powered by leading independent risk and short-term insurance advisory business Econorisk.
XonRisk, pronounced “ZonRisk”, is dedicated to meaningful involvement in African economic development through impactful solutions for the low insurance penetration challenge.
Noxolo Dlamini, XonRisk MD, is strongly motivated by youth development, female empowerment in the South African insurance industry, and the need to assist businesses with their insurance needs. She is passionate about Africa’s economic development and using risk management, traditional insurance, and alternate risk transfer methods as a growth-enabler for businesses. She holds a risk management degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Noxolo’s experience includes underwriting of specialist risks throughout the African continent and extensive experience in specialist legal claims, making her the ideal person to lead XonRisk as it provides much-needed risk-management solutions to SMEs, individuals and start-ups. She is also the winner of the 2018 Insurance Apprentice, a premier platform for young insurance professionals from around the country to refine and showcase their short-term insurance skills.
XonRisk was started with the dual purposes of:
- Increasing insurance participation in the SME sector. This sector is a key driver of a country’s economy
- Effecting racial and gender transformation in South Africa’s short-term insurance industry
The vision of XonRisk is to be the risk management partner of its clients so as to grow sustainable businesses.
