#BragPost – How awesome is this
On another note, in its fourth year running, The Insurance Apprentice competition has received the highest number of entries in four years.
With just over173 applications, the competition, with the aim of exciting more young people (inside and outside our industry) about what our industry has to offer, has been attractive to the likes of applicants from Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg from various age groups including young matriculants and graduates, to professionals.
#BragPost – How awesome is this… The Insurance Apprentice has even attracted the likes of Nigerian, Kenyan, Botswana and Namibian applicants which unfortunately we cannot consider as the competition is only based in South Africa. Perhaps in the future, this could change. We have even had interest from someone in Zambia to start a similar initiative like The Insurance Apprentice.
This speaks volumes in terms of how far and wide the competition has reached in terms of the audience we are speaking to. Far and wide, above and beyond, in Africa and other countries.
Once applications close, and the top thirty candidates are identified, regional rounds, will take place during October in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. If you have been chosen to go through to the second round, you will be notified mid-September.
For those candidates that make it through to the second round, elimination dates are as follows:
• Durban 16 October;
• Cape Town 17 October; and
• Johannesburg 23 October
This year’s elimination rounds, sponsored by Price Forbes, are set to bring in a creative spark with something completely different and outrageously fun and analytical.
After the elimination rounds in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban eight apprentices for series four of The Insurance Apprentice will be revealed mid-November. Filming will take place from 7 to 12 January 2018. The series will be aired early 2018 via the FAnews and The Insurance Apprentice websites, YouTube and Facebook.
The winner will fly to London, in business class, for a week to visit Lloyds of London; the winner will also receive a bursary valued at R75 000 from Inseta and the winner wins a cash prize of R20 000 from Masifunde Training Centre.
