#TIA2019 kicks off with a bang
Bringing in a whole new fresh approach with twists and turns, the audience is bound to find delight in the interesting surprises set in store for The Insurance Apprentice 2019.
On 19 January, Bryte Insurance hosted and sponsored a welcome dinner for the apprentices to officially celebrate the start of series five.
During the course of the evening one of the apprentices received a card which gave them the opportunity to be ‘safe’ for at least one episode with the proviso that the card has to be used within the first three tasks. The card was very aptly named the Reinstatement card. The fun part was that no one knew who got the card… but it did not stop all of them from wondering and guessing.
Going about the usual business
Filming of The Insurance Apprentice 2019 officially kicked off on 20 January at Old Mutual Insure in Sandton. A very special thank you to Old Mutual Insure for being incredible hosts.
The first episode, sponsored by Aon South Africa, sees the 2019 apprentices Colin Lunsky – HTI Insurance Brokers, Ditebogo Mokgalabone – Chubb Insurance, Gillian Riley – Santam, Jake Pennacchini – MUA Insurance Acceptances, Kishan Vanmali – Marsh, Mitesh Lakha – Discovery Insure, Palesa Mochane – Hollard and Reese Aron –Marsh, head to the first boardroom session of The Insurance Apprentice 2019.
Judge Simon Colman, Executive Head: Digital Distribution at SHA Specialist Underwriters – aka Judge Dread, joined by Kedi Maponyane, Managing Director at African Independent Brokers and guest judge Terence Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Aon South Africa, presents the first task with the requirements for the day.
Task one #revenuegrowth
Aon recently won the corporate account for a client in the retail industry. The task challenged the candidates to conduct a customer needs analysis that would identify gaps in the current corporate portfolio, with the aim of achieving profit, growth and continuity for the client’s business. The apprentices were required to present their strategy on how they would double the revenue for Aon by identifying the various cross sell and upsell opportunities available.
The winner of this task would walk away with a R10 000 cash prize. Did the apprentices ultimately convince the CEO and provide proper solutions? Did someone walk away R10 000 richer?
Watch episode one to find out and stand a chance to win R20 000 cash.

As the apprentices checked into the FNB Conference and Learning Centre they were each treated to an array of goodies including a R1 000 Uber voucher, sponsored by Discovery Insure, a power bank sponsored by Chubb, and a laptop bag from King Price, filled with some unexpected surprises.
